However, just because something has antioxidants in it does not mean it wil great for your skin. For example, coffee has a lot of antioxidants but the caffeine can actually cause break outs.

Tea

If you have extremely dry and sensitive skin to begin with then getting antibiotics will only make it worse.  In this case septicide cleansers are best..

This will make sure that your body is getting enough nutrients to fight against the bad bacteria that might enter. Your skin is obviously a huge part of your body that needs to be nourished.  Make sure you give it what it needs.

Don’t give up on looking for a cystic acne treatment, all these treatments will help you if you give them a chance.  Don’t opt for surgery until you have tried them out.

So how exactly do most antibiotics work?

When it comes to antibiotics for acne, there are several ways in which they work. The main way they work is to make sure it clears out the area in which the follicles grow. Tetracycline

One of the first treatments that many doctors prescribe is tetracycline. Depending on how severe the acne is, the average person will take 500mg of this stuff once in the morning and once at night. Once the acne starts to clear up you can lower the dosage down to 250mg twice per day or 500mg only once per day. Just like the majority of antibiotics out there, you should take this stuff on an empty stomach so it can produce the results quickly. If you eat within an hour before you take it, it will slow down the process of this stuff working. If you are pregnant then you should not take this product.  Also, children under the age of nine should not take it either.

Doxycycline

Tetracycline can be a bit rough and make your skin dry, for those who can’t handle it then this is the perfect treatment for you to get. You need to take about 100 grams twice per day, but the good news is you can take it with food if you would like. The only downside is the fact that many people feel a little sick when they take this, they also tend to become sensitive to the sun.

Erythromycin

This is actually much better than the two mentioned above if your doctor allows you to take it because it not only prevents acne but it helps reduce the swelling of the acne you currently have. Also, just like we we said above it can be taken with food and not interrupt the treatment at all. You can take between 200-500mg per day depending on how severe your acne is. The good thing is it is safe for women who are pregnant as well.

Minocycline

This is one of the oldest antibiotics for acne and it has been around for so long because it works. However, even though it does work very well it also has some of the worst side effects so it is a tradeoff. The biggest side effect is if you take it for an extended period of time you will become sensitive to pain. Also, for women this type of antibiotic has been known to cause a yeast infection which is obviously something we do not want.

Step 2-Apply Benzoyl Peroxide

Again, there are a ton of different Benzoyl peroxide products out there.  One of the top ones is the one made by Proactive company.  We are not saying they make the best overall acne treatment but their benzoyl peroxide part is actually very good because it is light and will not dry out your skin completely like a lot of products out there will.  When choosing a product, just make sure you get one that is less than 5% because if you get one that is more than that chances are very good it will dry out your skin. The purpose of the benzoyl peroxide is to get into your pores and prevent acne and cure the acne that is already there.

Step 3-Get An Oil Free Lotion

Just like step one, there are a lot of lotions out there that are that have a lot of oil in them, but you need to make sure it is oil free because oil causes acne.  The point of the lotion is to prevent your skin from becoming too dry because dry skin will cause breakouts and benzoyl peroxide actually dry up your skin.  Wait about five minutes after you apply the benzoyl peroxide to apply the lotion that way you will give it time to dry.  The lotion will also act as a protection to your face during the night so dirt can’t get on it.
